ArtRwanda - Ubuhanzi is a nationwide talent search programme implemented by Imbuto Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Sports and Culture. The programme aims at identifying and supporting young and talented Rwandans within the creative arts industry. It will consist of a televised nationwide search for creative youth in six different categories (plastic art, dance & music, fashion, theatre & drama, film & cinematography, literature). Each week, the selected performers will receive challenges, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent, and the least successful will be eliminated. Throughout the programme, competitors will be mentored by industry experts and receive advice on how to transform their talent into sustainable employment opportunities, in an effort to support their artistic development and future career aspirations.

We believe that Rwandan youths who have creative talents need to be nurtured further, to reach their full potential and create positive impact in the creative and socio-economic development of our country. We also see the need to foster youth unemployment, which continues to be a serious issue, slowing down our national development.

Through this programme, we aim to address these two problems simultaneously by recognising and raising awareness of the talent that is widely present among Rwandan youth, while supporting the creation of jobs and employment for youth in the creative industry.
