ArtRwanda - Ubuhanzi will be launched with a press conference on 10 August. Starting from 25 July until 7 September, the programme will be promoted countrywide, through various media channels, to create the buzz. The promotion will emphasise the dates and locations of the road trip selection sites, ensuring that all eligible youth know when and where to audition (there is no application process – candidates will sign up when they arrive day of).

Promotion will continue through the other phases as well, encouraging the audience to tune in and get to know the contestants.

During the road trip selection, youth are invited to audition at each of the selection sites. They will identify their preferred category then display their talents to a panel of three judges, for three to four minutes. The judges will eliminate contestants based on the quality of the talent displayed. The 120 contestants selected during the Road Trips will be invited to participate in a challenge tailored to their respective category. On the first day, contestants will be briefed and provided with all the necessary materials and equipment they need to produce an art piece/performance.
On the second day, contestants will face the judges to present their work. After deliberation from the judges, the top 10 contestants from each category will continue to the next phase of the programme.

The bootcamp phase is designed to develop the individual talents of the remaining youth, after which they are placed into groups across categories to foster multidisciplinary development of the arts. The bootcamp will be split into two trainings/mentorship.

Training 2: #TeamChallenge – Creating Collective Art Piece (28- 14 November)

Prior to the grand finale, a youth forum series will be organised around the creative arts industry in Rwanda. The forum will bring together youth and policy makers.
During the forum, two groups will be eliminated, leaving only three groups moving on to the Grand Finale. After the forum, the remaining teams will be given time to polish their performances, to be presented to the judges during the grand finale.

The grand finale will bring the three remaining groups of 6 individuals, before a panel of judges equipped to assess the various talents of the groups and business viability of their projects. Each group will present and be assessed by the judges, in front of an audience. The final winners of ArtRwanda - Ubuhanzi will be selected at the end of the finale.
